Caravane
About the gallery:
Caravane Cabo is a fine art screen print gallery, a concept store full of modern Mexican design with artisanal manufacture, a woodwork shop, and an interior design studio. Headed by Interior Designer Neto Brandon, and backed by one of the hospitality industry leading companies in architectural woodworking in Mexico, we bring a little bit of art, antiques, and a lot of Mexican contemporary design to the Gallery District in San Jose.
The team that makes up Caravane Cabo, has been working and loving Cabo for the last 8 years, involved in different residential and hotel projects in town. In 2017 we decided to make a permanent move to San Jose opening up our gallery and studio here, and lucky enough to be able to get in the Gallery district in San Jose, grateful to be a part of the community and the Art District Association, and just in awe of what they have been able to build over the years.
We decided to bring with us the work of mostly Mexico City based designers, mostly friends and family, that truly help define what is most exciting in Mexican Design these days. Working in everything from perfumes and scented candles, to rugs, palm and recycled nylon thread weaving, textiles and wood furniture we have been able to curate a space to showcase our very tropical version of the Danish concept of hygge: the cosy art of living well, with handcrafted pieces manufactured in traditional ways with contemporary design.
And along we put up our collection of Fine Art Screen Prints, cataloged pieces, of some of the most recognizable names in contemporary art. And some antiques we’ve had a lot of fun acquiring.
We feel that we could call it a concept store, precisely because the concept is a bit hard to define. But it really is all in the name, a Caravane of sorts, bringing a little bit of everything, from here and there, to be a part of the very exciting Gallery District of San Jose del Cabo.
