Lecture and Slide Show Portrait of Frida
We are lucky enough to be hosting Alejandra Lopez, the former coordinator of the Frida Kahlo Museum- Casa Azul, who is coming to Los Cabos to give us an inside look into her experience working at the Museum for the last 10 years.
She was hired in 2006, when the Museum was granted access to a bathroom in Casa Azul, that had remained locked since Rivera's death. The bathroom could only be opened upon the death of Diego Rivera's inheritor, almost 50 years after Rivera's death. The bathroom turned out to be a treasure trove of personal artifacts of Frida's, including letters, photos, clothing and her personal collection of vintage Mexican toys. Alejandra was hired to help catalogue and organize these items, and she will talk about this experience along with a slide show, and then will answer questions from the audience.
I hope that you will join us for this unique event- an opportunity to learn more about this iconic artist through her personal effects.
