Do your research –- Open yourself to new things and figure out what type of art you like, and the best way to do this is to see a lot of art. Visit every gallery in the District
Set a budget, and be prepared to spend a little more. The things that I regret most are the works that I did not buy, and for years still could not stop thinking about how much I loved the piece.
Buy what you love. Trust your heart and be confident in your purchase. Always remember it’s important to try to see the piece you are considering in person. Things look different in a photograph or jpeg.
Keep everything — the receipt, invoice and documentation. Don’t throw anything away, as this is what is used to authenticate and value a piece.
"We enjoyed another great Thursday night at Art Walk in San Jose del Cabo. Some galleries have moved, and some new ones have opened, and it's nice to say Hello to a couple of the gallery owners I visit every year. Add this to your list of activities the next time you're in Cabo! "
We were able to build in a trip through town to experience the art walk. The city square was decorated with Christmas decorations and was gorgeous. The art walk was also a great experience, with shops and galleries open late to showcase their work. I suggest adding the Art Walk to a pre-dinner agenda in San Jose del Cabo.
