About the gallery
Enrique Bascón, Galería de Arte, is a showroom that exhibits the works of this artist. With an extensive production that collects paintings, Giclée Fine Art, serigraphy and sculpture, his works present a Mexico full of contrasts that invite the viewer to a unique trip. His monochromatic paintings have a surprising austerity, in relation with the poverty he tries to capture, or in other occasions, he uses it to create a high drama in his direct messages, avoiding any taboos. The color, when he uses it, is extreme. Everything in his work is intense and anything is random.
“I am surprised by his deep knowledge of México, his work reflects México beyond Mexico. His sense of humor is pure irony”.

Artist's Concetp
Over the years I have realized that an artist, if that activity is something tangible, is formed from a myriad of places. Each personal circumstance has shaped that rough block of clay that ended up being me. My biography is the moments with my father in that river, the precarious economic situation, the strong Basque political character and its aggressiveness; then there are the women, the sexuality, and above all, there is the disease, which precedes the death, the one of my forty-two years old father. The fugacity of our time, which is finite and gives me a sense of urgency as part of any decision I make.
So many things to do and so limited time.
My painting is full of all of this. My artwork, although it sounds paradoxical, is full of humanity, is concrete, transparent, clean or very dirty, it´s me. It is the only place where I can completely be myself, without masks, without taboos.

“The painting is mine until the moment I finish, then it belongs to you.”

Giclée Fine Art Pieces, High Quality Museum Prints On Canvas
I painted a serie of ten Beach Vendors, in oil, all life size, to give respect to the hard worker, the other side of a touristic destination. Among all of them, I chose these four pieces to do a limited edition serie.
